The SSD-256 was one of ALOKA's most popular scanners in the early 1980s, with their new digital scan converter and a reduced size abdominal probe. First produced in 1982 and end of production in 1988. Used worldwide particularly in Asia and Europe. Marketed in the United States at one time as TechniCare® products.
